… The Shift in Human Nature

You're starting to see integrity change. Awareness recalibrates integrity, and the Human Being who would sit there and take advantage of another Human Being in an old energy would never do it in a new energy. The reason? It will become intuitive, so this is a shift in Human Nature as well, for in the past you have assumed that people take advantage of people first and integrity comes later. That's just ordinary Human nature.

In the past, Human nature expressed within governments worked like this: If you were stronger than the other one, you simply conquered them. If you were strong, it was an invitation to conquer. If you were weak, it was an invitation to be conquered. No one even thought about it. It was the way of things. The bigger you could have your armies, the better they would do when you sent them out to conquer. That's not how you think today. Did you notice?

Any country that thinks this way today will not survive, for humanity has discovered that the world goes far better by putting things together instead of tearing them apart. The new energy puts the weak and strong together in ways that make sense and that have integrity. Take a look at what happened to some of the businesses in this great land (USA). Up to 30 years ago, when you started realizing some of them didn't have integrity, you eliminated them. What happened to the tobacco companies when you realized they were knowingly addicting your children? Today, they still sell their products to less-aware countries, but that will also change.

What did you do a few years ago when you realized that your bankers were actually selling you homes that they knew you couldn't pay for later? They were walking away, smiling greedily, not thinking about the heartbreak that was to follow when a life's dream would be lost. Dear American, you are in a recession. However, this is like when you prune a tree and cut back the branches. When the tree grows back, you've got control and the branches will grow bigger and stronger than they were before, without the greed factor. Then, if you don't like the way it grows back, you'll prune it again! I tell you this because awareness is now in control of big money. It's right before your eyes, what you're doing. But fear often rules. …

Saudi King Salman names new crown prince

Saudi Arabia's king Salman sacked his younger half brother Muqrin bin Abdul Aziz bin Saud as heir to the throne, state television has said. Muqrin was the last top official from the era of late King Abdullah.

Deutsche Welle, 29 April 2015

King Salman's nephew and Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Nayefwas appointed crown prince on Wednesday by a royal decree, replacing Muqrin bin Abdul Aziz bin Saud.

"We have decided to respond to his highness and what he had expressed about his desire to be relieved from the position of crown prince," said a statement from the royal court, carried by the official Saudi Press Agency.

The statement added that king's half brother Muqrin will also be relieved of his duties as deputy prime minister of the oil-rich kingdom.

The latest shake-up at the top further strengthens the influence of King Salman's Sudayri branch of the royal family, which has waned during reign of late king Abdullah. Muqrin was the only remaining high-level dignitary who kept his position since Abdullah passed away in January.

King Salman also appointed his son, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as deputy crown prince, making him second in line for the throne. The king's son, in his early 30s, will retain his position as minister of defense.

Record-breaking diplomat

King Salman has also replaced Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal with the kingdom's ambassador to Washington, Adel al-Jubeir.

Faisal "asked to be relieved from his duties due to his health conditions," the royal decree said, adding that the former foreign minister was appointed as an advisor and a special envoy of King Salman.

Faisal was first named in 1975, making him the world's longest-serving foreign minister.

This is a second cabinet reshuffle since the 79-year-old king took over the throne some three months ago. It comes amid serious tension with Iran, Saudi Arabia's regional rival. Riyadh and Teheran have been trading accusations over involvement in the bloody Yemen conflict, with Saudi Arabia conducting airstrikes in the neighboring country.

IMF's Plan B for stalled reform

Want China Times, Staff Reporter 2015-04-28

Tianjin, September 2014. (File photo/CNS)

The International Monetary Fund's plan to sidestep the United States in its reform to increase the influence of developing countries is set to make China the country with the third-largest voting power in the organization, according to Shanghai's China Business News.

IMF deputy managing director Zhu Min stated after the 2015 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the IMF April 20 that the fund had already adopted a Plan B, since it can no longer wait for US congressional approval for its proposed reforms.

The reform, which is aimed at giving more voting power to emerging economies, was passed by IMF member countries in 2010, but requires Congress's approval because the plan involves funding changes.

Currently, the US has 17.9% of the total voting share and is the only member that enjoys the right to veto, while half of the voting rights are controlled by developed countries.

Under the proposal, China is set to see its voting share rise from 3.994% to 6.390%, while the US will have 16.75% and Japan will have 6.98%, according to the report.

Despite the support of President Barack Obama, the Republican-controlled Congress has been blocking the IMF reform proposal, said Ou Yongming, a researcher at Renmin University of China in Beijing.

Ou said the proposal is unlikely to be passed before a Republican wins the White House or the Democrats regain control of Congress.

According to Qiao Yide, vice chairman and secretary-general of the Shanghai Development Research Foundation, IMF chief Christine Lagarde hinted at two possible options for the so-called Plan B during a recent visit to China.

To get around the required US approval, the IMF might decide to not double the total quota — the principal source of the fund's financial resources — and just move 6% in quota share from European countries to developing countries, Qiao said.

The other option Lagarde divulged, according to Qiao, involves an ad hoc increase that will allow developing countries to see a bump in their quotas without affecting the US quota.

"The U.S. will not abandon the IMF, which is a multilateral organization. But what is worth noting is that the US will not change the status quo unless the country faces great pressure," Qiao said.

If the IMF reforms fail to go through, it will spur other countries' efforts to establish another multilateral organization outside the fund, such as the China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Qiao added.

Asean Leaders Pledge to Stamp Out Radicalism, Promote Peace

Jakarta Globe, Apr 28, 2015

Lumpur, Malaysia on April 27, 2015. (EPA Photo/Fazry Ismail)

Jakarta. Leaders of the 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or Asean, have declared the Southeast Asian region as the area of moderation, stressing the central role of the grouping in maintaining and promoting peace, stability and prosperity in this part of the world and beyond.

“We vows to promote moderation as an Asean value that promotes peace, security and development,” read the Langkawi Declaration on the Global Movement of Moderates.

The leaders further agreed to promote the approach of moderation and uphold the rule of law in the conduct of relations among states, including in the peaceful resolution of disputes in accordance with universally recognized principles of international law.

The rise of Islamic State (IS) has been viewed as real threat to the global world, spreading ideology of violence, extremism and radicalism throughout the world.

Nationals from across the region, including those from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand, have reportedly joined IS and ventured to Syria to fight with the movement.

There has been increasing fears that those returning may form a new generation of terrorist groups which could launch attacks within Asean countries.

To prevent the spread of radicalism, leaders vowed to enhance Asean’s common agenda of peace and prosperity, which promotes political and social stability, inclusive political processes and sustainable growth providing opportunities for all and upholds dignity, and social justice.

President Joko Widodo stressed during the summit the need to maintain stability and security while achieving prosperity in the region.

“All disputes, including territorial and border disputes must be solved through peaceful means,” he told other Asean leaders in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.

On the South China Sea issue, he emphasized the need for Southeast Asian nations and China to quickly come together with a legally binding agreement, known as a Code of Conduct (COC), to create peace and prevent open conflict.

He said that all countries must refrain from making moves which could be considered aggressive in the region, urging both Asean member states and China to quickly decide on the COC.

Thirteen years after it was first proposed, the document is still under intense debate and discussion.

The leaders of Asean also committed to make the grouping a people-oriented, people-centered and rules-based Asean Community “where all people, stakeholders and sectors of society can contribute to and enjoy the benefits from a more integrated and connected Community encompassing enhanced cooperation in the political-security, economic and socio-cultural pillars for sustainable, equitable and inclusive development.”

South Korea's Park 'regrets' bribery scandal

Yahoo - AFP, 28 April 2015

AFP/AFP/File - South Korean President Park Geun-hye at the Brazil-South
Korea business meeting at the headquarters of the FIESP in Sao Paulo,
Brazil on April 24, 2015

South Korean President Park Geun-Hye expressed "regret" Tuesday over a bruising bribery scandal that implicated some of her closest aides and forced her prime minister to resign.

Park, who is currently recuperating from a stomach ailment following a 12-day South American tour, also promised a sweeping review of "deep-rooted corruption" in Asia's fourth-largest economy.

"I express my regret for causing concerns among South Koreans," Park said in a statement read in a live television broadcast by her chief spokesman Kim Sung-Woo.

South Korean Prime Minister Lee
Wan-Koo pictured in Seoul on
March 24, 2015
"The truths behind the latest scandal should be revealed through a thorough investigation ... we need a new political reform to root out prevalent, deep-rooted corruption in our country," she said.

The president's comments came a day after she accepted the resignation of prime minister Lee Wan-Koo, who had only been in the job a little over two months.

Lee's hand was forced by a scandal triggered by the suicide earlier this month of Sung Wan-Jong, the former head of a bankrupt construction company.

In the dead man's pocket, investigators found a note that listed the names of eight people -- including Lee and former and current presidential chiefs of staff -- alongside numbers that allegedly indicate bribery sums.

The suicide came as Sung was about to be questioned by prosecutors over allegations that he created a slush fund with embezzled company money to bribe politicians and government officials.

The scandal dealt a fresh blow to Park's approval ratings that only recently had started to recover from the aftermath of last year's Sewol ferry disaster.

Bribery scandals involving politicians and rich businessmen have been a fixture of South Korean politics for decades.

Two former presidents served prison terms for taking bribes and dozens of heads of major business groups have been convicted of forming slush funds to lobby politicians.

Aid agencies prepare 'massive' operations in quake-hit Nepal

Humanitarian agencies said Monday they were preparing a large-scale aid operation to earthquake-ravaged Nepal, with more relief planes arriving in the coming hours.

"This will be a... massive operation," Elisabeth Byrs, spokeswoman for the UN's World Food Programme, told AFP.

Officials say more than 4,000 people are now known to have died, the overwhelming majority in Nepal -- making it the quake-prone Himalayan nation's deadliest disaster in more than 80 years.

WFP experts arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday to evaluate the situation, and the agency estimates shelter and medical equipment should be the first priority.

The World Health Organization said Monday it had already distributed medical supplies to cover the health needs of 80,000 people for three months in the country.

"An additional five emergency health kits are being flown in along with surgical kits and trauma bags to meet the immediate health needs. There is an urgent need to replenish medical stocks to support the emergency response efforts," said Poonam Khetrapal, WHO's regional director for Southeast Asia.

But with food also expected to quickly run scarce, WFP has "mobilised all of our food stocks in the region," Byrs said.

WFP is loading a plane with rations of high energy biscuits in Dubai, and Byrs said it would arrive in Nepal Tuesday.

They would be distributed to survivors in the country, taken by truck where possible, but due to the massive destruction, "the relief cargo may need to be airlifted," she added.

The UN refugee agency meanwhile said it was on Monday sending nearly 20,000 plastic sheets and some 8,000 solar lamps.

About half the stocks were already in place in Nepal and the rest were being flown from Dubai to Kathmandu on Monday afternoon on a cargo plane donated by the ruler of the United Arab Emirates, UNHCR said.

WFP experts are meanwhile poring over satellite images to estimate how many people have been affected by the disaster, Byrs said.

She said the worst-hit area was in "an agricultural zone that is home to between two and three million people."

Millions affected

WFP has been working in Nepal since 1964, and the agency had before the quake already been planning to assist some 500,000 people who do not have enough to eat.

aid supplies to be send to earthquake-ravaged Nepal, in Merignac on April 27,

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) launched an emergency appeal for 33.4 million Swiss francs (32 million euros, $35 million) to cope with the crisis and cater for around 75,000 people over the next 18 months.

But it said the number of people affected was far higher with between 4.6 and 6.6 million people thought to be living within a 100-kilometre radius of the epicentre.

"We already had 19,000 prepositioned kits" in Nepal, IFRC chief Elhadj As Sy told reporters in Geneva, adding that they included non-food items like kitchen sets and tarpaulin sheets.

"Charter flights have also been organised with relief items. We hope to get them landed as soon as possible," he said.

Simon Eccleshall, who heads disaster and crisis management at IFRC, said the "next 72 hours is critical" for people trapped under rubble, as rains could flood the debris.

The UN children's agency has meanwhile warned that the quake had left nearly one million youngsters in desperate need of assistance.

UNICEF cautioned that the thousands of children camping out in the open in the capital Kathmandu were particularly at risk of disease.

UNICEF said it was mobilising staff and sending two cargo flights with 120 tonnes of humanitarian supplies, including medical and hospital supplies, tents and blankets.

President Of Indonesia : We Need To Cooperate To Advance The Nation

Jakarta Globe, aacc2015.id, Apr 24, 2015

AACC2015, Bandung – The President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo invited all representatives of the Asian and African countries to start economic cooperation in order to increase the quality of life of their people.

“The Spirit of Bandung is to advance people’s welfare. Therefore, we must cooperate,” said President Joko Widodo at the height of the commeration of the 60th Anniversary of the Asian African Conference (AAC), in Bandung, on Friday (24/4).

According to the President, the Spirit of Bandung that was agreed by the founders should be a unifier that opens every economic cooperation potential. This should be a good momentum to produce various economic agreements in order to improve people’s welfare.

Still fresh in our memory is the struggle for independence by our predecessors. At that time, all Asian and African countries experienced the impact of colonialism. The Asian African Conference fosters a spirit of togetherness that was initiated by the Spirit of Bandung, to fight colonialism.

Previously, five countries were still dreaming of gaining independence from colonialism, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, and Indonesia. Their dream to gain independence inspired the birth of the Spirit of Bandung, the President added.

Through the AAC Commemoration, Joko Widodo invites all people of the represented countries to inflame the Spirit of Bandung in Asian and African in order to fight for peace, end poverty, and provide better welfare. (Photo: Host, Translator: Mia)

Bandung Message Signed

"The Timing of the Great Shift" – Mar 21, 2009 (Kryon channelled by Lee Carroll) - (Text version)

“… Here is another one. A change in what Human nature will allow for government. "Careful, Kryon, don't talk about politics. You'll get in trouble." I won't get in trouble. I'm going to tell you to watch for leadership that cares about you. "You mean politics is going to change?" It already has. It's beginning. Watch for it. You're going to see a total phase-out of old energy dictatorships eventually. The potential is that you're going to see that before 2013. They're going to fall over, you know, because the energy of the population will not sustain an old energy leader. Remember where you heard it... in a strange, esoteric meeting with a guy in a chair pretending to channel. [Kryon being factious... Kryon humor] Then when you hear it, you'll know better, won't you? "Maybe there was something really there," you'll say. "Maybe it was real," you'll say. Perhaps you can skip all the drama of the years to come and consider that now? [Kryon humor again]

These leaders are going to fall over. You'll have a slow developing leadership coming to you all over the earth where there is a new energy of caring about the public. "That's just too much to ask for in politics, Kryon." Watch for it. That's just the beginning of this last phase. So many things are coming. The next one is related to this, for a country in survival with sickness cannot sustain a leadership of high consciousness. There is just too much opportunity for power and greed. But when a continent is healed, everything changes. .."

".. Many years ago, the prevailing thought was that nobody should consider China as a viable player on the economic stage. They were backward, filled with a system that would never be westernized, and had no wish to become joined with the rest of the world's economic systems. Look what has happened in only 30 years. Now, look at Africa differently …”

" .... Africa

Let me tell you where else it's happening that you are unaware - that which is the beginning of the unity of the African states. Soon the continent will have what they never had before, and when that continent is healed and there is no AIDS and no major disease, they're going to want what you have. They're going to want houses and schools and an economy that works without corruption. They will be done with small-minded leaders who kill their populations for power in what has been called for generations "The History of Africa." Soon it will be the end of history in Africa, and a new continent will emerge.

Be aware that the strength may not come from the expected areas, for new leadership is brewing. There is so much land there and the population is so ready there, it will be one of the strongest economies on the planet within two generations plus 20 years. And it's going to happen because of a unifying idea put together by a few. These are the potentials of the planet, and the end of history as you know it.

In approximately 70 years, there will be a black man who leads this African continent into affluence and peace. He won't be a president, but rather a planner and a revolutionary economic thinker. He, and a strong woman with him, will implement the plan continent-wide. They will unite. This is the potential and this is the plan. Africa will arise out the ashes of centuries of disease and despair and create a viable economic force with workers who can create good products for the day. You think China is economically strong? China must do what it does, hobbled by the secrecy and bias of the old ways of its own history. As large as it is, it will have to eventually compete with Africa, a land of free thinkers and fast change. China will have a major competitor, one that doesn't have any cultural barriers to the advancement of the free Human spirit.. ...."

Belt and Road key to future of Africa-Asia cooperation

Want China Times, Staff Reporter 2015-04-26

Xi Jinping delivers a speech at the Asian-African Summit 2015 in Jakarta,
April 22. (Photo/Xinhua)

At the Asian-African Summit or Bandung Conference 2015 held in Jakarta, Indonesia, President Xi Jinping of China delivered a speech calling for win-win cooperation between Asian and African counties. China still has an important advantage in its huge labor-intensive industry to help Africa's developing counties develop their economies, China Securities Journal reports.

Xi said China will push for cooperation between Asian and African nations, pledging to give zero tariff treatment to 97% of categories to most developing nations which have diplomatic ties with China and will continue to offer subsidies to developing counties without any political conditions. China hopes all countries in the region can work together to on its New Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road (Belt and Road) initiatives and join the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), pushing for joint maintenance of regional and world peace and stability.

In 1955, representatives from 29 Asian and African countries and regions gathered in Bandung to discuss independence, peace and economic prosperity. The Bandung Conference opened a new chapter in the developing countries' struggle for national independence, economic development, social progress and a more balanced international order.

Beijing's Belt and Road initiative will explore the deeper-level cooperation potential and expand cooperation room among related countries along the routes. For developing countries, insufficient funding for infrastructure is one of the most difficult problems. The AIIB aims to make up this shortfall. So far, the AIIB has attracted 57 nations to be its founding members.

The Belt and Road will involve territory occupied by around 4.4 billion people, accounting for 63% of the world's population, with total economic output of about US$2.2 trillion, representing 30% of the world's total. The nations along the routes are mostly new and emerging economies. The Belt and Road will build on existing foundations to push for more complementary cooperation to expand regional cooperation.

China and Pakistan have jointly promoted the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as one of the important projects in building the Belt and Road, triggering rising investments.

Due to rising worker salaries, China has gradually lost its advantage in labor costs, with a large volume of labor-industries destined to gradually move out of the nation. While Africa, which has a population of over one billion, will be the only place in the world that can receive China's huge labor-intensive industry, especially as the average per capita salary in African countries is only about one-fifth to one-tenth of China's.

“… The Future of the Illuminati

Now, I want to tell you something that you didn't expect and something I've reported only one other time. What about all of the money that the Illuminati has? There are trillions and trillions of euro in banks, under their control, waiting. What are they going to do with it and where are they going to use it? It's still here. They're waiting.

This group is waiting for something to happen that they know is going to happen, for they see it coming as much as I do. However, I would like to tell you something that they don't expect. With awareness comes generational shift. Those in charge of this money will not always be elders. The indigos eventually will have it.

They are waiting for something to happen in Africa - the building of a new civilization, a continent that has nothing to unlearn. Once Africa is cured, once it's ready, a new civilization can be created from the ground up. Africans will be ready to learn everything about building a foundation for the most advanced civilization ever and will do it with the most modern and inventive systems available. Eventually, this new continent will even beat the economics of China.

This is the prediction and always has been, and the Illuminati's money will fund it. Did I say the Illuminati will fund it? [Kryon laugh] The Illuminati's money will fund it, but there is a difference from the past, dear ones. The ones who inherit the positions in the Illuminati will be a different consciousness. Listen, they are not suddenly going to be the ones who have the good of everyone in their hearts - hardly. They want to make money, but what they will see instead is a way to make a great deal of money through this investment. In the process, it will automatically help hundreds of thousands, and they will be at the beginning, the foundation, that builds the new Africa. The new African states of unification eventually will create a continent stronger than any of the others, and it will have one currency. The resources alone will dwarf anything in the world. ...”

Frantic search for Nepal quake survivors as toll tops 2,000

Rescuers in Nepal searched frantically on Sunday for survivors of a quake that killed more than 2,000, digging through rubble in the devastated capital Kathmandu and airlifting victims of an avalanche at Everest base camp.

Terrified residents of Kathmandu were woken by fresh aftershocks in the worst disaster to hit the impoverished Himalayan nation in more than 80 years, with many forced to spend the night trying to sleep out on the streets and open ground in tents.

Hospitals were so stretched that medics had to set up tents outside to treat patients.

The historic nine-storey Dharahara tower, a major tourist attraction, was among the buildings brought down Saturday, with at least a dozen bodies recovered from the ruins of the 19th-century tower.

Offers of help poured in from around the world, with the United States and European Union announcing they were sending in disaster response teams.

India flew out its stranded citizens in military planes while a 62-strong Chinese rescue team arrived with sniffer dogs.

National police spokesman Kamal Singh Bam said the number known to have died in Nepal had risen to 1,953 while 4,629 people had been injured.

Officials in India said the toll there now stood at 53, mainly in the eastern state of Bihar, while Chinese state media said 17 people had been killed in the Tibet region.

"We have deployed all our resources for search and rescues," Bam told AFP.

"Helicopters have been sent to remote areas. We are sifting through the rubble where buildings have collapsed to see if we can find anyone."

The Red Cross said it was concerned about the fate of villages near the epicentre of the quake northwest of Kathmandu.

Officials said 17 people were so far known to have died on Mount Everest where an avalanche triggered by the earthquake buried part of base camp Saturday.

It is the deadliest disaster in Everest's history and comes almost exactly a year after an avalanche killed 16 sherpa guides.

AFP's Nepal bureau chief Ammu Kannampilly, on an assignment at base camp, reported that six helicopters had managed to reach the mountain on Sunday morning after the weather improved overnight.

A stunning image captured by the agency's South Asia photo chief Roberto Schmidt showed a massive cloud of snow and debris cascading onto base camp, burying scores of climbers and flattening tents.

"People being stretchered out as choppers land - half a dozen this morning," Kannampilly said in a text message.

"Weather clear, some snowfall."

The country's cellphone network was working only sporadically, while large parts of the capital were without electricity.

AFP correspondents in Kathmandu reported that tremors were felt throughout the night, including one strong aftershock at dawn.

"It has been a sleepless night, how can we sleep? It has been shaking all night. We are just praying that this will end and we can return home," said Nina Shrestha, a 34-year-old banker who spent the night with hundreds of people on open ground in the capital's Tudhikhel district.

As rescuers sifted through the huge mounds of rubble, the hospitals were overflowing with victims who suffered multiple fractures and trauma.

"We have treated many people since yesterday, majority children," said Samir Acharya, a doctor at Nepal's Annapurna Neurological Hospital.

"Most patients have head injuries or fractures. Two of our patients died, two are critical."

Acharya said medics were working out of a tent set up in a parking lot because of overflowing patients, while some patients were too scared to stay in the building.

Families had grabbed whatever possessions they could muster and sought shelter on the streets, many of which had been split asunder.

Weather forecasters warned that rain was on the way, with dark clouds looming over Kathmandu and promising more misery for displaced survivors.

Snowfalls on Saturday had thwarted efforts to airlift survivors from Everest, where around 800 mountaineers were gathered at the start of the annual climbing season, cancelled last year after the sherpa deaths.

Google executive Dan Fredinburg was one of the climbers to have been confirmed as having been killed.

Experienced mountaineers said panic erupted at base camp, which has been "severely damaged", while one described the avalanche as "huge".

"Seventeen have been reported dead so far and 61 are injured," said Tulsi Gautam of Nepal's tourism department which issues permits to climb the world's highest mountain.

"Those who are able are walking down. Others are being airlifted."

'Just flattened me'

Kannampilly said many of those stranded at the scene were walking down the mountain rather than risk being stuck for days.

George Foulsham, a Singapore-based marine biologist, described the moment that the disaster struck.

"I was outside, saw a white 50-storey building of white come at me. I ran and it just flattened me," he told AFP.

"I tried to get up and it flattened me again. I couldn't breathe, I thought I was dead. When I finally stood up, I couldn't believe it passed me over and I was almost untouched.

"I saved for years to climb Everest. It feels like the mountain is saying it's not meant to be climbed for now. Too much of a coincidence to see this twice in two years."

Nepal and the rest of the Himalayas are particularly prone to earthquakes because of the collision of the Indian and Eurasia plates.

An 6.8 magnitude quake hit eastern Nepal in August 1988 killing 721 people, and a magnitude 8.1 quake killed 10,700 people in Nepal and India in 1934.

China's top legislature on Friday ratified the protocol to the Treaty on Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone (NWFZ) in Central Asia.

After approving the protocol, the National People's Congress Standing Committee declared that no security protocol or treaty will undermine the status of the NWFZ, and that all explanations and applications of the clauses in the protocol shall support the goal of the building of the NWFZ in Central Asia.

The protocol was signed by representatives of China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States on May 6, 2014 in New York.

The protocol provides legally-binding assurances not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against parties to the NWFZ parties.

Enacted in 2009, the treaty commits the signatories, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, to refrain from developing, acquiring or possessing nuclear weapons.

Russia seeks more Chinese investment: official

English.news.cn   2015-04-24

ST. PETERSBURG, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Russia is interested in Chinese investment, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said Friday.

The official said Russia has seen Western markets closed to Russian investment, so the country has been stepping up its financial cooperation with China and is seeking larger Chinese investments in the Russian economy.

Siluanov mentioned the 800-km high-speed railway connecting Moscow with Kazan, capital of the Tatarstan Republic, as one possible project China may invest in. The investment for the project is estimated at 1 trillion rubles (19 billion U.S. dollars).

Siluanov also expressed support for China's initiative of the Silk Road Economic Belt.

"The Silk Road initiative would facilitate a broader relationship between our countries," RIA Novosti news agency quoted him as saying.

Siluanov noted that the project would provide better conditions for freight between Asia and Europe and therefore help improve Russia's economy.
