Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA News) - An Indonesian housemaid is currently being treated in a hospital in Malaysia after being raped and tortured by her employer.
The police in Pulau Penang, Malaysia, have arrested her employer, ANTARA News learned here on Saturday.
Georgetown police chief Gan Kong Meng said the maid, Wifa Indah (26) from East Java, told police she had been hit in the head, hands and legs by a buckle leaving her with serious injuries, according to Malaysian news agency Bernama.
He said she had also said she had been raped many times by her male employer.
She is now still being treated at a hospital in Pulau Penang. Traces of wounds caused by hot water were seen on her back.
According to the results of a hospital examination, she had wounds on her genitals, presumably inflicted by acts of sexual violence.
The police arrested her male and female employers who live at Jelutong Apartment on Friday.
After working for four months, her employer had only paid her RM30 (Rp75,000) and later dumped her on the road side at Taman Cenderawasih, Nibong Tebal. She had languished there for 12 hours before a passerby took her to the closest police station.
