(ANTARA News) - The supreme audit agencies of ASEAN member countries are
planning to establish an association to facilitate cooperation among themselves
in the future.
According
to a press statement from the Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) on Monday,
the purpose of establishing the ASEAN Organization of Supreme Audit
Institutions (ASEAN SAI) was to support the efforts to form an ASEAN Community
by 2015.
"Cooperation
among the supreme audit agencies of ASEAN member countries is needed to help
realize ASEAN`s goal of becoming one community by 2015," a member of BPK,
Taufiequrahman Ruki, said.
ASEAN SAI
is expected to be a forum that can help increase the capacity of its members
while also assisting ASEAN member countries in creating good governmental
systems.
The
establishment of ASEAN SAI would be formally announced during the 19th ASEAN
Summit in Bali next November.
