Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia, as the largest democracy in Southeast ASia, and the world`s third largest after India and the US, is playing a significant role in promoting human rights in the region.
A meeting was jointly organized by the Human Rights Resources Centre for ASEAN (HRRCA) and The Indonesian Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) here Monday to discuss Indonesia`s role in promoting and advancing human rights in Southeast Asia.
The discussion was attended among others of by Komnas Ham Chairman Ifdhal Kasim, Chairman of HRRCA Foundation Marzuki Darusman, Deputy Chairman of LIPI (Indonesian Institute of Sciences) Prof Dr Dewi Fortuna Anwar, and Rafendi Jamin, Indonesian representative to the ASEAN Inter-Government Commission for Human Rights.
