President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi chair the third annual consultation meeting between both countries at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday morning.
Badawi arrived at the State Place at around 10:00 a.m. and was officially welcomed by Yudhoyono, both later inaugurate the meeting, which was scheduled to last for 1.5 hour. Both leaders are scheduled for a press conference after the meeting.
Antara reported that the meeting was held to advance relationships and reduce misunderstanding between the neighboring countries.
Badawi arrived in Jakarta on Monday night accompanied by a 94-member entourage, including hie wife Jeanne Abdullah.
In the meeting Badawi is accompanied by Malaysian Foreign Minister Rais Yatim, Information Minister Shabery Cheek and Human Resource Minister S Subramaniam.
He is also companied by Malyasian Eminent Persons Group (EPG), a bilateral group established to help settle misunderstandings between both countries.
Badawi and his entourage are to return home on Tuesday evening. (dre)
