Malaysian police arrest Indonesian drug dealers

Local police in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia arrested three Indonesian and seized marijuana weighing 5.5 kilograms worth RM15,900 (Rp 51.5 million) from them in Seri Kembangan area on Monday, Antara has reported.

The trio, who were all from Aceh, were believed to be responsible for distributing the drug in Subang Jaya since one month ago, said Subang Jaya police deputy chief Supt Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid.

He said police arrested the first suspect near their Pinggiran Putra apartment in Seri Kembangan at 5:30 p.m. Monday and found three slabs of marijuana weighing 2.9 kilograms from a bag he carried.

Police later raided the apartment and arrested two more suspects and found three more slabs of cannabis weighing 2.6 kilogram in the unit.

Abdul Aziz said one of suspects had a valid travel document while the others entered the country illegally.

Police believed the drug supply was obtained from outside Malaysia. (dre)
