SINGAPORE, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Six broadcasters from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries Tuesday agreed to form an alliance to enhance collaboration on content, sales, marketing and technology, local media reported.
According to TV broadcaster Channelnewsasia, under the SMART Alliance, the member broadcasters will cooperate in generating, distributing and purchasing content as a region in order to boost production and lower costs.
The six member of the alliance are ABS-CBN from the Philippines, BBTV from Thailand, International Media Corporation from Vietnam, Media Nusantara Citra from Indonesia, Media Prima from Malaysia and Media Corp from Singapore.
The alliance hopes to add more members over the next three years, the report added.
